AFD assisted CHFD in a large hay bale fire on the evening of October 25th. Approximately 25 round bales were on fire upon arrival and another 15-20 bales were in danger. Landowners assisted with tractors by moving unburned bales to a safe distance. Due to the nature of the fire, the bales were allowed to burn as CHFD and AFD kept them contained. It is believed that the fire was likely caused by a cigarette being thrown from a passing car into the dry grass.
