Appleby FD has a tradition of holding an annual Christmas banquet as a way of honoring the men and women who make the up the department but a large emphasis is also placed on giving thanks to the spouses and family members of our volunteers. Without a supportive family our members wouldn't be able to do all that they do. The banquet is a time to relax but also a time to honor some of our members with awards.
For many years now the Appleby Fire Dept. has been honored to have Santa ride one of our trucks as we drive throughout the Appleby community. Santa enjoys visiting with the children and the AFD "elves" pass out candy canes to the kids and to those who are still kids at heart.
The Appleby Fire Dept. once again participated in the Nacogdoches Nine Flags Christmas Parade. This year the Grinch and his dog Max rode along with us.
AFD was glad to once again glad be able to participate in the Nacogdoches County Veteran's Day Parade. We would like to thank all the veterans who have served and sacrificed for our great country.
Fire Quench is a Class A foam concentrate that is used to help quickly extinguish fires. Fire Quench is produced by Texas Correctional Industries (TCI). The Appleby Fire Dept. was honored to be chosen as the fire dept. to help produce the Fire Quench informational DVD in conjunction with TCI and the Texas Forest Service (TFS).
The Appleby Fire Dept. would like to thank TCI and the TFS for the honor of being invited to help with the filming of this DVD.
